About this tool

Last updated July 2026.

Tip Calculator is a small, focused tool built to answer one question fast: how much should I tip, and how do we split this bill? No account, no app download, no history saved anywhere — just the calculator you need at a restaurant table, in a cab, or checking a delivery order, in rupees.

It's built and maintained independently, alongside a handful of other small web tools. The tipping-guide figures on this page reflect common, everyday practice in India rather than fixed rules — actual customs vary by city, venue, and whether a service charge is already on the bill.

Found something inaccurate, or tipping norms that don't match what's shown here? Feedback is welcome and helps keep the guidance current.
